As a former competitive figure skater, I've long been passionate about optimizing physical and mental performance. This led me on a journey of discovery - beginning with a Food Science degree and MBA in Agribusiness, and most recently a Master's in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine.
My relevant work experience began in Corporate Employee Wellness programs, and later transitioned into assisting with Learning Disability assessment and tutoring. After 15 years of assessments and tutoring, my experience led me to see significant improvements when dietary changes were incorporated. I decided to return to school for my Master's in Nutrition and Functional Medicine to dig deeper and fell in love with using nutrition to optimize cognitive function.
My practice takes a whole-body approach, assessing and addressing nutritional deficiencies, digestive health, sleep, exercise, stress, and environmental exposures. I collaborate closely with clients to devise personalized strategies, drawing on my expertise in areas like the Bredesen Protocol and the nutritional and genetic influences on learning disabilities.
Inflammation has a powerful effect on the gut-brain axis. Finding the causes of inflammation and nutritional deficiencies is different for each person. Uncovering those triggers and adjusting nutrient intake can significantly improve in productivity, focus, attention, behavior, and motivation. Learning to manage blood sugar prevents brain fog, "feeling" hangry" before meals and sleepy afterward.
On a personal level, I was able to experience profound improvement in my cognition after implementing The Bredesen Protocol following chronic health issues and a concussion. The improvements were so effective that I became a Certified Bredesen Practitioner.
